About Amy E. Harth

I am pursuing a Ph.D. in the interdisciplinary studies program at Union Institute & University. In 2009, I completed my master’s degree in humanities with distinction at Tiffin University. At the University of Illinois at Chicago, I completed a bachelor’s degree in history and received the Goodman Prize, which honors outstanding undergraduate history students as chosen by the history faculty.

My research area is African studies, including U.S. and European media representations of Africa, racial identity formation in Africa, World Bank poverty reduction projects in Africa, environmental preservation and poverty reduction issues in Africa, and U.S. and European foreign policy toward Africa. I am also an administrator at DeVry University where I have taught World History.

The views expressed in my blog are my own and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of any institution or organization past or present with which I have been affiliated or with which I am currently associated.
